You choose to split them and add some more cash to the pot. Now you are playing two hands at once. Both of them have threes as your starting card. From here, you just play as you normally would. However, you have the chance of winning with two hands now. This gives you better odds that at least one hand will be a winning one.
So why should you never split the 10′s? Pretty much because your chances of getting two aces to make 21 for both hands are pretty low.
